Nanak Ji
Description :
Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of the Sikh religion and one of the most revered spiritual leaders in Indian history. He is often depicted in paintings and other works of art, with many of these artworks highlighting his teachings and the principles of the Sikh faith.
One common theme in Guru Nanak Dev Ji's paintings is his emphasis on the oneness of God and the unity of all mankind. As you can see in this painting, it is a hand of a new born Guru Nanak, with the sign of 'EK ONKAR' on his palm, which means there is only one God. And also the rosary beads depict the Naam Simran or taking the name of that high power. There is a bright halo behind the symbolic hand, which is created with vibrant colours along with thick fog or clouds around it. As it is said in Sikh Community, 'Satgur Nanak Pargatea,Miti dundh jag chaanan hoa' which means when Nanak took birth on this earth, it cleared all the fog and brought celestial light to this world.
